In case you haven’t heard, climate change is the greatest risk humanity has ever faced. My goal this time is to stop the earth from dying because of climate change. In 2010, I did not have a larger goal or cause except making it from one side of the country to the other.I’m confident, the plant-based diet will allow me to run/walk further and recover more quickly each day. Since going plant-based I’ve felt healthier, stronger, and more clearheaded. Over a year ago I adopted a plant-based lifestyle. Before I leave I will probably post a video of all the things I am bringing. I do not plan to buy a cart for this journey. I am bringing less things on this journey. I ultimately ended up buying a cart to carry everything.

In 2010, I brought a lot of stuff with me. Here are a few videos of me running barefoot in preparation: one, two, three. The book “ Born to Run” was a big inspiration for doing this trip barefoot. Here are a few differences between the trip in 2010 and the trip in 2016: I am no longer the same human I was in 2010. This second trip will obviously be different.

Since walking across America in 2010, I have thought a lot about crossing America on foot again. The entire journey will be completed entirely on my own two bare feet. My goal is to reach California at some point in late December. On OctoI will leave my house in Providence Rhode Island and begin another journey across America.
